Indigofera australis is an evergreen shrub with a spreading habit and arching branches with dull-green compound leaves with small opposite leaflets.
Long, slender spikes of rosey-pink, pea-shaped flowers are borne at the ends of the branches creating a drooping, pendulous appearance.
As a Butterfly attracting plant it's a great choice for native and exotic gardens alike and is perfect for those lightly shaded spots.
It's also useful as a spillover planting.
It grows naturally in open woodlands and Eucalypt forests as well as in the margins of rainforests.
