Myrtus communis or the Common Myrtle is an evergreen, erect shrub with a dense bushy habit and glossy dark green leaves that are aromatic when crushed.
Fluffy cream flowers are borne in spring and are also quite fragrant.
Blue/black berries follow the flowers and are edible.
