Phlomis russeliana or Turkish Sage is an attractive addition to garden borders particularly when planted en-masse.
It is a herbaceous perennial and grows to one metre in height and width.
The many upright stems with large, ovate, rough-textured grey-green leaves, give it a nice bushy appearance.
Pale yellow hooded flowers appear in whorls along the erect stems from late spring through summer although they are at their best in early summer.
This makes an excellent addition to mixed borders and goes well in informal, Mediterranean and cottage style gardens.
