Populus deltoides or the American Cottonwood is a deciduous, single trunked tree with a spreading, narrow domed habit, eventually becoming broader as it ages.
The leaves are a triangular/diamond shape and glossy green, turning gold in autumn before dropping.
The lovely grey bark makes this an attractive tree when not in leaf.
N.B. Like most poplars, the roots can be invasive, so it's best not to plant near pipes or buildings.
A good large landscape tree.
