Andromeda polifolia or Common Bog Rosemary is a low growing shrub with small leathery recurved leaves with pale undersides that resemble Rosemary leaves.
Small, white and pink, urn-shaped flowers appear in profusion as slender terminal sprays in springtime. The flowers can be so dense that they can obscure the foliage altogether at times.
The fragrant flowers are attractive to pollinators.
A good flowering shrub for shaded sites, it makes a mound that is good for partial ground cover.
