Overview
A spreading bushy perennial that has an upright habit and grey green, slightly hairy foliage. In summer, racemes of lavender blue flowers are borne and are held just above the foliage creating a lovely carpet of colour. An excellent plant to provide contrast in borders or for edging or rock gardens.
Soil: Well drained conditions, it can tolerate quite poor soils if neccessary.
Maintenance: Cut back hard after flowering to promote vigorous growth next season.
Diseases: None of note.
Other Species: 200 species in all including N. cataria, N. nervosa and N. tuberosa.
Comments: This is a vigorous plant and can overpower some less robust plants unless you keep it in check.
