Salix babylonica is a beautiful weeping tree with a round crown and pendulous branches that almost touch the ground.
It is a deciduous tree with narrow mid green leaves that turn yellow in autumn before dropping its leaves.
The bark is greyish brown and irregularly furrowed.
Male and female catkins appear on the same tree and emerge with the leaves. They grow well along streams and the edges of rivers and watercourses.
