Megaskepasma erythrochlamys is an attractive shrub of tropical appearance that will thrive in sun or shade.
In late autumn and through winter it produces bold spikes of crimson red bracts that make a terrific display as winter approaches.
The rest of the year it rewards with some elegant foliage that is large leafed, glossy and quite noticeably veined making an excellent background for borders or as part of a shrubbery.
A useful plant, this will be quite happy under taller shrubs and trees, as long as it gets plenty of diffuse light and some direct sunshine throughout the day.
Excellent for adding a tropical feel to any garden and will also go well in a larger tub or planter to brighten up a patio area.
