This is a relatively low growing tree that bears spectacular orange to scarlet flowers, hence its name of Flame Tree. It will however spread outwards, sometimes as wide as it is tall, so this isn't for small gardens.
It isn't a true evergreen, as it sheds it foliage, but it is replaced almost immediately so the effect is like a messy evergreen - messy because it dumps most of its foliage at once.
This tree is renowned worldwide for its clusters of fabulous red flowers that blanket the entire canopy of the tree.
Each of the five petals is bright red-orange with one petal being bigger than the others and features yellow and white markings.
The flowers mature to become a long black seed pod.
