This mint-like plant produces small, greyish seed which has a mildly nutty taste. They are said to contain high levels of antioxidants, fibre and protein and produce one of the highest sources of omega 3 in the plant world.
The seeds can be sprinkled on cereals, ground into flour to use in baking, or mixed with water or juice.
Easy to grow, it will self seed if allowed and has brilliant blue flowers in spring and summer.
