Verticordia grandis is one of the most spectacular flowering shrubs in the myrtaceae genus.
It is usually about one metre in height but can reach two metres tall and has small rounded leaves which are grey-green in colour and held close to the stem.
The flowers have five petals and are about 20-25 mm in diameter, deep scarlet in colour and quite spectacular. The flowers are prized by the cut flower trade.
It prefers the dry, hot summers of Western Australia but will grow 'over-east' providing its not too humid and enjoy good drainage.
