Clivia x cyrtanthiflora is a rhizomatous evergreen perennial with wide strap-like leaves and thick roots that grow on or close to the surface.
From late winter to early summer they produce a single flower stalk with a terminal umbel of the most wonderful orangey-yellow, pendulous, funnel shaped flowers. These flowers are smaller than the more common C. minata and more pendulous.
These plants grow best in full or part shade and are a good option when looking for plants that will flower in areas where there is little or no sun.
The evergreen nature of the plants makes them a good choice for mass plantings under trees or along shady paths.
