Primula x Candelabra or Candelabra Primrose are a naturally occurring hybrid of unknown parentage.
Like others in their genus the foliage is mid green forming a low growing rosette from which the tall stems appear to hold the layered whorls of flowers aloft.
The flowers grow outwards from the stem forming a neat circle of blooms, hence the resemblance to a candelabra or chandelier. Varieties are available in a wide range of colours and they will add a lot of welcome early colour to mixed borders, along with a gentle informality as they sway on long stems in the breeze.
A perfect choice for cottage style gardens.
