Beschorneria yuccoides is a perennial succulent with a rosette of slender strap-like leaves that can grow to 1m in length.
The flowers are produced in panicles along an arching stem during summer. The whole panicle is a pink-red colour with lanceolate pink bracts and pendulous tubular yellowy green flowers from each node along the stem.
These, like many agaves are hardy plants, they prefer full sun to part shade, will tolerate drought, frosts and will grow in front line salt areas. Although they will tolerate drought they will grow much better is watered and fertilised regularly.
They are not the most attractive of plants on their own but work well when planted on mass especially in low maintenance areas, along roads and in coastal areas
