Bergenia ciliata - is a clump forming evergreen perennial in warmer areas but herbaceaous in cooler frost prone areas.
It has rosettes of wonderful large, glossy, mid green obovate leaves with a tinge of reddish- bronze. The margins, front and underside of the leaves are covered with fine hairs.
In early spring it produces an erect leafless flower stem with one or two clusters of white or pink funnel shaped flowers.
These make great ground cover plants for border edges or groundcover. Plant with other spring flowering plants include feathery and strap-like leaves for wonderful textural contrast.
