Eumorphia prostrata is a low-growing, groundcover shrub from South Africa with arching stems and a spreading habit.
It forms a dense mat of silvery foliage that has a covering of fine, silky hairs that lie flat.
As it spreads it easily roots from the nodes, therefore making an ideal groundcover.
It produces typical daisy-like flowers around 8-9mm in diamter that have white ray florets around a bright yellow centre of disc florets. Single flowers are held aloft on short stalks.
A drought tolerant plant that makes a good addition to Mediterranean, alpine and water-wise gardens.
The silvery green foliage makes a good contrast to other, more colourful plants and goes well in borders, rockeries, terraces and hanging baskets.
