Euphorbia tirucalli - sometimes known as Sticks of Fire, is a striking and architecturally interesting small, succulent shrub with pencil thin branches that turn to strong shades of orange and red over the cooler months of the year.
These very unusual plants are easy to keep and go well in pots as a patio feature or can be planted en-masse for example as a low hedge.
They grow as a thicket and are particularly colourful over winter.
There are leaves that appear but they soon drop off.
This plant is particularly useful in dry and gravel gardens, coastal settings, and Mediterranean style gardens.
