Filipendula vulgaris is an upright, clumping, tuberous rooted perennial that is happiest dry pastures.
These are grown for the good ground cover of the stems and leaves and the large clusters (corymbs) of fragrant, white to cream flowers that rise above the foliage in mid to late summer.
It has medicinal properties including antirheumatic, antipyretic and anti-ulcer.
Very easy to grow.
