Gomphrena globosa or the Globe Amaranth is a bushy, clump forming annual with oval hairy mid green leaves.
It bears spherical flower heads of deep magenta, purple, pink, yellow, white or orange on thick stems throughout summer and on into autumn.
A lovely plant for mixed borders, they are quite heat and drought tolerant and make good cut and dried flowers if picked just before fully opening.
They also are useful in attracting butterflies to your garden.
