Calendula Ball's Supreme are double pettaled, golden orange calendula flowers that are a familiar sight in cottage gardens and in colourful window boxes.
The petals are a great addition to salads and often used in stir-fries and even added to muffins.
They have a myriad of uses in the kitchen and also very popular in the garden as companion plants for beddings and for the eradication of twitch and couch grass.
The plant grows to a height of 23cm with a 15cm spread. It grows best in a warm sunny position with moist but well drained soil.
Propagate from seed by placing premium seed raising mix in a pot, sprinkle the seeds on top and tamp the seeds down.
Cover them lightly with soil and keep the seed raising mixture moist.
Once seedlings reach a height of 3-4cm, plant them out into the garden.
Liquid fertilise as required.
Dead head the spent flowers to prolong flowering.
