My dwarf flowering gum seems to have a pest that is eating away at the leaves. It looks like some sort of caterpillar that creates a web, joining the leaves. Does anyone know what this is or what pesticides is safe to use on a gum tree?
Hey Haley, I'd suggest spraying with Natures Way Caterpillar Killer Dipel - Yates which specifically targets caterpillars and is safe for beneficial insects such as ladybirds and bees. We stock it most of the time here in the GardensOnline shop - I say most of the time as it sometimes becomes unavailable from the manufacturer for short periods of time. If you don't see it when you look, then come back a few weeks later - its a popular organic product where supply often seems to outstrip demand.
