I have 1/2 dozen Eumundi quondongs along my back fence line. They all seem to be doing fairly well except one which isn't growing and is 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the others and looks scraggy. This is the second Quondong I have planted in this position and both have not flourished. from the picture attached you can see the difference in size of the plant on the right. it also has less new growth, leaves are a lighter green and it seems to being have more leaves with insect attacks. I have tried watering more, less mineral trace elements etc. I would appreciate any advice. Thankyou
These sort of problems are very difficult to diagnose remotely David as there can be so many factors affecting this one plant. I can sympathise however having tried planting multiple plants in one bed to see one just not thrive, while the others grow healthily. Sometimes it can be as simple as curl grubs eating roots (which can be localised to one plant). Nutrients deficiencies seems less likely as the others closeby are doing well and this sort of issue tends not to be localised. I'd suggest getting a soil ph kit first to ensure you have optimum soil ph. Then take those results along to a local nursery with some foliage and see what they say.
