After floods in the first quarter of this year I thought two of my eumundi quandongs had survived. I lost the third one. However in the last couple of weeks they have started dropping their leaves. The leaves are still green and appear to be healthy otherwise. What is happening to them?
There are a lot of environmental factors that we cannot deduce remotely Julie. However heavy rains over prolonged periods can wreak havoc with so many plants - and are not always immediately obvious. The biggest long term damage cause by heavy and prolonged rains is that the soil compacts and the air is therefore expelled. Roots need air as much as water so in effect the plants may just be slowly suffocating - which would explain why you thought they had survived but are now looking poorly. Sorry not to be able to offer better news.
