Hi!! I just brought a new house and the previous owners had planted two dahlias in the front yard.
After looking them up online I see that there is a big thing about digging them up in winter?
We live in south west Victoria. I was wondering if sometime can explain it all to me? Do I have to dig them up?
No you don't HAVE to dig them up. Of course in the wild they have no human intervention, so they will just continue to create new tubers underground. BUT lifting them, letting them dry out and re-planting them with a bit more space between them will always be better and get better results.
I wonder what kind of Dahlias are you discussing here. I have Black Dahlia Flowers and they didn't required much digging.
