I have some geraniums with rotten stems. Is this due to placement, watering or a disease or pest and is there anything I can do about it? Thanks for any advice.
Geraniums are susceptible to root and stem rot in damp conditions. They need really well drained soil and do best when the soil is allowed to dry between watering. This summer, along the east coast, all geraniums have suffered from too much water and the humidity has encouraged fungal diseases like Rust.
Once the stems have started to rot you are best to throw away the plants and start again.
